And you've changed some.

How I despise laundry. I should at least be thankful I don't have to do it the old fashioned way.

I am now caffeinated and in a good mood thanks to my friend Joshua and his hall.
(I wish people in my wing were so awake and outgoing.)
I predict this second all nighter in a row to be a success.

Why do humans k i s s ?

Today, the most widely accepted theory of kissing is that humans do it because it helps us sniff out a quality mate. When our faces are close together, our pheromones “talk” – exchanging biological information about whether or not two people will make strong offspring. Women, for example, subconsciously prefer the scent of men whose genes for certain immune system proteins are different from their own. This kind of match could yield offspring with stronger immune systems, and better chances for survival.

Still, most people are satisfied with the explanation that humans kiss because it feels good. Our lips and tongues are packed with nerve endings, which help intensify all those dizzying sensations of being in love when we press our mouths to someone else’s. Experiencing such feelings doesn’t usually make us think too hard about why we kiss – instead, it drives us to find ways to do it more often.

Interesting article. Catch the whole read here: http://www.scienceline.org/2006/10/02/ask-fiore-kiss/

Like his music..
his smile makes me melt.
I wouldn't mind being the future
Mrs. Melillo.
In the beginning things were so damn easy. It seemed that everything I am was what you wanted. As we grew into our skin, mine got thicker as yours was wearing thin thinking about the girls' you missed, the lips unkissed, what might have been.

Sweet sleep.

Friday, November 13, 2009

"The good days." We would grab only the best sabanas, blankets, and pillows to make our tendidos on the trampoline late at night. We would try to sleep and then become really quite frightened by the outside neighborhood noises. (Though we never admitted it.) We would let Valentine and Peanut Butter nap with us by our feet. (Then later kick them off and pull the chair away.) By morning, depending on the time, us two would wake up either hot or freezing and leave everyone else to go pass out on the couch inside. Later, the rest would trail in after us and follow suit. (I miss my best friend and siblings ♥)

According to Greek mythology, Persephone had to remain in the Underworld because she couldn't resist the seeds of a pomegranate. (I'd probably have to remain in the underworld as well.)

Stupid boy:
Well she was precious, like a flower.
She grew wild, but innocent.
A perfect prayer in a desperate hour.
She was everything beautiful and different.
What made you think you could take a life and just push it around?
I guess you build yourself up so high you had to take her and break her down.
You're down on your knees.
She's never coming back to you.

And maybe, just maybe, her heart needed to be broken. Broken and shattered and stomped into pieces. Then she could finally look down at the pieces, study each one and spend some time getting to know the person she’d become. And when she finally had all the pieces back together again, a little crooked, a little jumbled but sealed firmly with love, she’d realize she was more beautiful than ever. Because this time, she would love herself.

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Last night after turning down a trip to the movies with friends,I had some time to myself. I pulled out my lovely guitar, tuned it up, and the craziest thing happened. After practicing A Day to Remember's "If it Means A Lot to You," I actually started writing.. my own music. I've actually got a real song of my own in the making.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

On the road home from a family trip
last night, I finished the first Harry Potter
book. Never had I thought I would fall
into this book culture phenomenom, but
indeed, I was pleasently surprised by this story.

What I Love About...

Tucson
Summer shower
puddles soak torn pavement
I walk.
Falling into faded moonlight
Cloudy curtains draw.
Scatter an ever drifting light,
The pitter patter twinkle of my forgotten starshine.
I used to wish on stars
Reflected in my eyes no more.
Dusk stream in the morning sun,
wasted time fall over me.
Blow away this dripping doubt
Latch on to speeding cars.
Flutter the black and yellow butterflies
my way;
I was born to fly.
